Reflective Essay (without many links since google reader is down in our school)

One of the first assignments that were giving to us in the beginning of English class was to be able to create a blog and write two posts weekly. Writing a blog is Incorporated further than school. Within the writing that we post, we reflect on someone else’s information, major news. not only are we exercising our writing capacity but we are also informing ourselves with knowledge.  Getting used to writing on a regular basis is not difficult a thing. we started with two post per week: one for whatever we please and one to respond to another post. Many people were originally not accustomed to constantly write as much as on a regular basis. Mr. Sutherland set up many goals for us in the beginning of the class. i believe that one of the goals was not only blog, which have been doing on a regular basis, but the point to regularly blog without having an assignment due.
As I student in middle school, I was never accustomed to writing regularly, but by the assignments that are asked of us I have gotten more comfortable and have improved slightly within my writing. The quick writes are small ways that helped me understand to try to cut back and focus more writing since we have a subject and we have to write for ten minutes without stopping. I have learned to try to structure my writing in ways that are simple but make very important changes in the writing, to give the reader a clearer perspective. i learned that when i write.
In reviewing the posts on the blog that I have done I noticed that many of the subjects that my writing did not related to situations in the moment. From the past posts that i have made i usually wrote about things that weren't so interesting. since i noticed that i was not as interested in the things that i was writing about i understood the changes that i needed to make. to make the changes and better my writing i began to look at other peoples post and make a similar post to that. there was a slight change in interest and seemed to change. for example, i noticed that there were many post between Karen Chavez and Rohksor Yusufi about jersey shore and people attempting to be “jersey”.

“she’s too dramatic and emotional and claimed that most females are fake that’s why she doesn’t have a girl best friend. I dislike her because she forgave Ronnie and started hating on Jwow.” (a quote from Karen’s blog.)

Within this quote from Karen's blog i can understand the feelings that derive from her and she is blogging. not only is she explaining and stating facts within her knowledge but, she is explaining her thoughts with much emotion. she includes words and signal of her taking interest into her blog entry. It is apparent that she takes much interest into her posts and it goes further than just another assignment to the class.

In reading and responding the posts from other people, I came up that many people wrote about person feelings and thoughts about things that really touched them. those people were using the blog as more than just an other assignment. the feelings they expressed made it a  Those are my favorite types of posts. I like to read and get informed about how a person strongly feels about something that they notice. other peoples post have helped me grow immensely. knowledge and experiences could be some of the greatest gifts to a person. Google reader is a miracle joining all posts. there have been so many times that i have come across someone Else's post that is so interesting and compelling. some of the posts included Elton. he began telling the story of his life and expressing his feelings. In one of his posts he explained about a relationship he stood in. in addition to the relationship post he included his feelings about the sudden death of our dearly beloved physical movement teacher. With that post i was able to feel the support and know how other felt about the horrible situation the school faced. Mr Sutherland was another person that commented about the situation and how he felt. this would not have been possible without the power of the blogs! The posts i related to gave me an better approach to the topic and encouraged me to post about it .
One of the major steps in the process of writing is revision. Revisions to a add and help the paper to better rewrite misleading parts to the reader. In other words, is polishing, polishing makes the essay and writing better, bumping it to another level. Bumping it to the next level.  Throughout the year when creating my posts on the blog I did not reread what and check for any mistakes and confusing sentences. one of my major mistakes included redundancy and clutter. i have improved on that and now have to begin to focus on writing without repeating myself.

Now a days many teens are having problems because of the society that they are living in. many things in a persons environment need to be changed and cause many problems for the people that live in them. For teens many problems get in their way and one of the only approach is to end the problem that they are having. And the way that people do that is by ending their lives. A community should have more resources for the teens in their.

Writing is one of the many things that can never be perfected, and understood by everyone. As a student writing is to get adjusted to and do it on a daily basis. A goal that i have ti improve my writing would be giving the reader straightforward, clutter less information. the main ideas need to be clear. By taking away unnecessary details it will lead to a better understanding of my writing.                  riting.

Celie and Nettie Compare Contrast

Celie and Nettie are two sisters sharing the same love while having distinct personalities and characteristics. In the novel, “The Color Purple” by Alice Walker, contains a theme of struggles rises throughout the plot. The book is about a girl named Celie as she grows and lives in a surrounding that make an effect to her and shapes her world, while her sister Nettie works and spends her life and time in Africa teaching young children. Celie is a weak woman who realized the actions she made working to make sufficient changes for herself to grow and become stronger. Nettie the other sister, a woman from the beginning that knew her position and life and would not allow anything less for herself working hard for her life. Nettie and Celie share string points with and partially with religion but differ greatly in the points of education and gender inequalities.

Religion and spirituality affect Celie and Nettie Greatly. Celie begins the book by appreciating emotions towards her faith in God. Celie directly wrote letters to God. Celie stood where her belief soon began to change. The changes in Celie were swift, changing her position in religion.
“He gave you life good health and a good woman the love you to death”“Yeah I say and he give me a lynch daddy a crazy mama and a low down dog of and a                 sister I wont ever see again.” (Page 192)

Celie found the point in which exactly she learned God’s a role in her life. Celie grew courage to become strong and began to her faith. Nettie’s position of her job made a decision towards her faith. “Saying good-bye to our church group was hard. But happy too Everyone has such high hopes for what can be done in Africa.”(Page 134). While in Africa Nettie worked along side the children, taught, and translated her points and thoughts to them in education while preaching religion. “Well now I know what you meant. And whether God will read letter or no I will go on writing them; which is guidance enough for me. “Nettie never exactly established her position of god clearly. Nettie took influence in the position of Celie to back her claims in her faith. Even though, Nettie was not clear in her point of religion change her faith.

Celie based her actions upon men her life. While at home along with her family, Celie based her decision on what would benefit them. Celie never thought on how to approach her situation to benefit her, it was the highly the opposite. Celie’s mother fought back and resisted which led to her father seeking Celie.

Celie was taken advantage on many occasions, but never fought. Celie never reflected the situation to understand it clearly. Celie’s decisions were made rather than making them for her. Celie needed the support and help of Shug Avery another woman.
“My life stop when I left home, I think. But then I think again, It stop with Mr.____ maybe, but it start up again with Shug.”Celie took Shug to increase her knowledge and grow courage.
Nettie on the other hand understood the positions of people in her life including herself. When her father harassed her, she fought attempted to avoid the situation. Nettie moved from the situation heading to Celie to build a better life. Nettie never placed herself in a situation where her father would hurt her.
“When we was well out of sight… started trying talk. You know he do, You sure is looking fine Miss Nettie and stuff like that. I tried to ignore him and walk faster… Well I started to fight him, and with Gods help, I hurt him bad enough to leave me alone.”  (Page 127)
Nettie also found herself being a strong woman when forced to by Mr._____ she did not allow him to take advantage of her.

Education stands strong in a person’s position life. Celie never found herself in a position where she could decide about studying. Celie used the struggles of life to build herself to a point where she was literate. Never was Celie granted the opportunity to further herself becoming a stronger woman in reading and writing.
“By the time I git back from the well, the water be warm. By the time I the tray ready for the food it be cold. By the time I git all the children ready for school it be dinner time. He don’t say nothing. He set there by the bed..” (Page 2)
Celie had to work hard under the teachings of her sister Nettie, hiding her knowledge and obvious of what she was learned from Mr.______. Celie was harassed told to stop learning, but strived to become a stronger person, kept fighting Mr.______ not letting him to get in the way of her. Nettie never faced struggles in building a life with education and knowledge. Celie found herself taking care of the house while Nettie was at school. Even though, Nettie never faced the problem of not being allowed to go to school, she found herself driven to earn an education.Nettie never allowed distractions of others to get in the way of her learning. Nettie fought in own unique ways. Nettie could have stopped learning and help her sister Nettie around the house. As Mr.____ approached her and asked her to follow him and go with him, making the choice to go to school. Nettie Never allowed herself to get off track.

Strong points and similarities rose throughout siblings through the story between Nettie and Celie in education, gender inequalities, and faith. Both Celie and Nettie faced struggles for a goal and point they wished to seek, but both found different themselves with a different outcome of their problems. The problems, which Nettie and Celie faced, only help to demonstrate the ways and struggles of a person to a person and how it leads to success in a specific point. Celie and Nettie are two sisters sharing the same love while having distinct personalities and characteristics.

Reflective essay

One of the first assignments that were giving to us in the beginning of English class was to be able to create a blog and write two posts weekly. The process of writing blog is Incorporated by having favorite and least favorite topics and posts, growing from feedback and responses from others and process of revisions; going from rough draft to a final. Within writing that post, we would have to reflect and respond to someone else’s post. Getting used to writing on a regular basis is a difficult thing. Many people are not accustomed to writing as much as the assignments. However, one of the goals that Mr. Sutherland my school’s English teacher wanted to give us was to be able to get used to writing for a long period of time (timed writing) and writing more often as well.

As I student in middle school, I was never accustomed to writing regularly, but by the assignments that are asked of us I am beginning to get more comfortable and have improved in small ways in my writing. The quick writes are small ways that helped me understand to try to cut back and focus more writing since we have a subject and we have to write for ten minutes without stopping. I have learned to try to structure my writing in ways that are simple but make very important changes in the writing, which help the reader, understand what they are reading.

The feedback from the class/audience has helped me in many ways since its constructive feedback that they may give for me to use. When writing the feedback the audience usually focuses on the subject, and what I have to think and say, but in few cases, they write about a question that was unclear to them and their thoughts that made it hard to understand what they were reading. By seeing some of my mistakes that were apparent in writing, I can reflect on how I should be changing and progressing.

In reviewing the posts on the blog that I have done I noticed that many of the subjects that my writing was relating to were to topics that had no point what so ever to situations that were happening in the moment. Rather I was writing about my thoughts about situations and ideas that are unappealing to the audience, which led to less reviews and responses from others. “The story is about a Native American teenager that lives on a small Spokane reservation, becoming aware of the contrast: favoritism of white people and the low self-esteem of Indians.” A goal that would help to bring my thoughts to be reviewed I will begin to think out of the box and step out of my comfort zone for the topics and ideas in which I write about, to more eye balling subjects.

In reading and responding the posts from other people, I was able to come up with that many people wrote about their person feelings and thoughts about a topic rather than something that happened to them or something that they have see. Those are my favorite types of posts that I enjoy reading. I like to read and get informed about how a person strongly feels about something that they notice. For example, one student had written about how they despise males who decide to sag meaning wear bottoms pants or shorts lower than expected at the waist. When someone is usually sagging, they are showing part of their behind and their underwear to everyone that passes by and notices. The student was wondering why the males had decided to sag and wear their jeans low and they also decided to wear a belt holding the pants at a level down near to their behind. the student also speaks about how peoplet generalize how a certain race should dress.http://aleahbaaqee.blogspot.com/Not only is the topic interesting in a strange way, but also it allows the writer to express their deep feeling about the community and their actions. Another, topic that I came across that was interesting and that many people responded and had thoughts about was that of a story writing about love. The student wrote about how their experiences and my thoughts as well combined to maker her feel and strongly believe something about that strong word people call LOVE. http://karenchavezlife.blogspot.com/2010/09/ilove-you-is-8-letter-word-so-is.htmlThis post was one of my favorites since I was part of a reason that made the student feel and understand the position in which they were writing about. I do not have a least favorite post since everything is unique in a way even though I may disagree with their ideas and thoughts.

One of the major steps in the process in writing that is to be done after the work of thinking of ideas and noting them down, is revision. revisions to a paper are the part that add and help the paper to become better it the ways in which they customize and rewrite parts that mislead the reader. another word for revising a paper is polishing, polishing makes the essay and writing better, bumping it to another level. Throughout the quarter and or year when creating my posts on the blog I did not begin to reread what I had written to check for any mistakes that makes them unclear. Some mistakes that I have now realized that I had done included; spelling, grammar, redundancy, and misleading the audience and making the central point clear within the writing.

Writing is one of the many things that can never be perfected, to a person’s view and perspective of what they are writing about in a paragraph, post and or essay. As a student writing is a difficult thing that I have to be adjusted to, and being able to do it on a daily basis. A goal that would help me and my writing to improve would be giving the reader more to work with and being straightforward, to be able to understand the main ideas. By taking away unnecessary details and topics that, lead the reader to a different approach on their understanding of the topic. To guide the reader in a way to understand may also include changing what I am choosing as subject, to something that I am more familiar with and that I could able stay consistent. Rather than choosing something that is important and irrelevant t, I will begin to choose more out of the ordinary topics that may provoke the reader to want to read and respond.

The Central Conflict in the Story

The central conflict in the realistic fiction Novel, “Of Mice and Men,” by John Steinbeck most of the conflict in the story is based on the society and the ignorance of people. Lennie one of the two main characters in the story is mentally disabled and in many cases has troubles and is need of help from the other character in the story named George. In his early childhood stages, Lennie had an accident with a horse and soon became disabled. Lennie was in the care of his aunt Clara, and when she passed away, George was the only left and by the side of Lennie. George was forced to be the Parent figure for him and to take care of him. There was no other person that Lennie could take turn to and have a similar or equal relation, like with George The society and people have no consideration for people that are mentally disabled and have difficulties. Whose fault is it that no other family member could take an importance for Lennie? Who should be for the blame?

Many people were not as aware and considerate on how to be able to live and be with someone that has some mental disability, and the great depression added to that and was a factor. Not only were people not willing to share and have lives with people because they were in a hole where they did not have sufficient materials and money for people to support each other. “Well, I never seen one guy takes so much trouble for another guy. I just like to know what your interest is.” George said, “He’s my . . . cousin. I told his old lady id take care of him. he got kicked in the head by a horse he was a kid. He’s awright. just ain't bright. but he can do anything you tell him.” Of Mice and Men, page 22. During the time and era that they lived in the people were not used to seeing someone take care of others for no apparent reason. in this situation and case George was the person that was in the care of Lennie, and that was only because Lennie could not take care of himself and there was no other person that Lennie could count on. In order not to look and stand out, George had to make the decision of making a lie and explaining that he was Lennie's cousin. People could not understand what was the reason for someone to want to have someone beside them to aid and help the.

People’s reaction and interactions with people with disabilities change and they are unable to comprehend that they are different in some ways, including on how they think and may react. “That big son-of-a bitch done it. I know he done it. why-ever’body else was out there playin’ horseshoes.” After Lennie had made a mistake and had take someone’s life and people had found out they were unable to understand what could have happened and reacted in a way instead of coming to a conclusion and learning more about the situation and react in a way that made things worse for everybody. Curly reacted by cursing and not being able understand. In addition, the people had not take the proper care and precaution that was needed to be able to understand what would happen and could happen in a situation similar to that of which happened. The people and the group had no way to understand and know what to do with the situation.

In the final pages of the book, there was a crowd of people chasing after Lennie after the incident with the death of Curly’s wives death. They wanted to punish and kill Lennie since he had taken the life of somebody. People had no other way or thoughts on how to be able to solve the situation. “He pulled the trigger. The crash of the shot rolled up the hills and rolled down again.” There was someone that was going to take the life of Lennie, and it was his friend who had decided to take it for him. He believed that it would be better for him to kill than for someone to just decide to kill him. He wanted his friend to peacefully die.

John Steinbeck 1937 "of mice and men" the struggle had finally come to a but not in the way that they were hoping and wanted to and planned. They had planned that George and Lennie would be able to free of people the money and any other issues by being able to reach an amount of money and buying and or having a farm and being separated from the rest of the other people. The struggles and discrimination that was coming from and towards the people with mental disabilities has not changed and not gone forward in many steps.

Like many people Qfwfq, is not of those people that forget things in a very simple manner having no need for time to get over anything. They do not forget the bad things that happen to them. Lll had just gone and met with Qfwfq’s uncle; N’ba N’ga and spending together having fun. “Instead we went on seeing each other going together and lagoon episode was never mentioned. I was still uneasy: it was no use my trying to persuade myself she had forgotten; every no and then I suspected she was remaining silent ...” (The Aquatic Uncle, by Italo Calvino Page 77) this explains and demonstrates that Qfwfq is very judgmental and finds himself thinking the worse and thinking that people are always after someone and that things always end up being bad and reflecting towards someone.

People set their mind to something and forget about many other things and do not care or give importance of the other things that reflect around the world they are in anyway. “ That was about the time that u fell in love with Lll and I spent our days together chasing each other; no one as quick as she had ever been before; in the ferns, which were as tall as trees in those days…”...”(The Aquatic Uncle, by Italo Calvino Page 74). This demonstrates that Qfwfq is the type of person that dedicates everything to a specific subject that dedicates his time and effort into what he is doing and or loves to do. He does not care or sees what else may be important to them, they have set their mind to think and care much about the other things around anything are in this time.
